Find an Accessibility Contractor in Ottawa

Tell us about the project and we will send your request to local Ottawa contractors who do accessibility work. They can reply to you by email.

Fields marked * are required. No phone number needed — contractors can reply by email. Your request is shared only with the contractors we send it to.

How It Works

  • Tell us what you need: a ramp, a stair or platform lift, wider doorways, grab bars, a main-floor bedroom, thresholds or kitchen changes
  • We send your request on to local contractors in the Ottawa Construction Network directory
  • They can reply to you by email to arrange a visit and a written quote
  • Compare quotes, ask questions and decide if it is the right fit, with no obligation

What to Check Before You Hire

  • A written quote that names each part of the job, any permit, and the patching and finishing
  • If you are applying for a grant: whether the program must approve the work before it starts (the March of Dimes program and Ontario Renovates both say so)
  • For the Home Accessibility Tax Credit: invoices and receipts with the contractor's name and address, GST/HST number if applicable, the work, the dates and proof of payment
  • A written contract with the scope, price and dates; on a direct agreement, such as one signed at home, your 10-day cancellation right under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002
  • The written warranty: what it covers, for how long, and who stands behind it
  • We do not screen or verify contractors, so check these yourself before you sign
