When does the Ottawa Ontario Renovates program end?

The City of Ottawa's Ontario Renovates program is open until March 31, 2027. The City says funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis until then.

A few conditions are worth knowing before you apply. The program covers low-income seniors and persons with disabilities for essential repairs and accessibility modifications. It offers up to $20,000, made up of a forgivable loan of up to $15,000 for essential repairs and accessibility modifications, and a grant of up to $5,000 for accessibility modifications only. The City's page says: "To earn loan forgiveness, you must own and live in the house for 10-years after the repairs or modifications are complete"; the program sets the conditions, so ask the City. Verified project quotes are required before approval, and any work done before the City approves your application is not eligible for funding.

Eligibility conditions listed on the City's page include owning the home as your sole and principal residence, the home's value being at or under the City's published limit, being 65 or older, having a disability, or living with a senior or a person with a disability. Household income must be at or under the City's published limits, which range from $40,000 for a one-person household to $109,000 for seven or more people. The City's page lists these as separate points, so confirm directly with the City how they apply to your situation. The program decides eligibility; nothing here should be read as a confirmation that you or anyone else qualifies.
