Does a curved rail add a lot to an Orleans stair lift price?

A straight stair lift runs about $3,000 to $6,000 installed, based on published 2025–26 prices. A curved stair lift runs about $10,000 to $15,000 or more, and stairs with more complex curves cost more still.

What shows up in a quote for your stairs

A fair written quote for a curved stair lift in Orleans should break out at least these items: the rail, the lift unit, installation labour, any patching or finishing, and the warranty in writing.

Funding may offset part of the cost, and each program decides who is eligible (checked September 2026). The March of Dimes Home and Vehicle Modification Program lists stairlifts among the home adaptations it funds, up to $15,000 over a lifetime, and will not repay any cost before it authorizes the work. The federal Home Accessibility Tax Credit lets an eligible person, 65 or older or eligible for the disability tax credit, claim up to $20,000 of eligible expenses a year. Ontario Renovates in Ottawa lists chair lifts among the accessibility modifications it may cover, until March 31, 2027.

One question worth putting to any contractor before you sign: ask them to list in writing what the price includes for the rail and the installation, and what it leaves out.
